Our Mission - Southeastern Power Products

   The principals at Southeastern Power Products have a combined history of 75 years selling and maintaining diesel generators. They learned the lesson that is obvious to most gen-set owners. These critically important components are often over-designed and under-built. So, Southeastern Power Products decided to enter the gen-set business that would offer a simple, efficient line of gen-sets that would be easily assembled and easily repaired.
   Today, Southeastern Power Products idea has been converted into a full line of dependable diesel generator sets. The gen-set line includes the industry standard 1800 RPM units, as well as special low profile units for small or lightweight diesel-powered RV. Southeastern Power Products also has the capacity to custom build or modify generator sets to suit individual customers needs or to build diesel-charging systems.
   History
Though Southeastern Power Products is a fairly young company - it was founded in 1990, its founders hd over 75 years of combined experience with diesel engines. The first step in the production of the gen-sets was to pick the engine. That choice was simple: Kubota, because the Southeastern Power Products founders were familiar with Kubota technology and their reputation in the industry for quality and reliability are unsurpassed. Also, Southeastern Power Products, is the master Kubota distributor for the state of Florida and the Caribbean. By 1992, Southeastern Power Products had grown to occupy a 15,000-square-foot warehouse/showroom in Pompano Beach, Florida.
   Mission
Southeastern Power Products mission is to provide excellent customer service by building exactly what the customers ask for and doing it at a reasonable price. To accomplish this, the company uses nothing but off-the-shelf components, including its Kubota engines, generators with epoxy-coated windings, Racor filters, Cupro-Nickel heat exchangers, all standard. This can be done because the gen-sets were designed for simple assembly and efficient operation in the first place. Problem-prone components such as electronic circuit boards, relays, or belt-driven pumps were eliminated.
   Prices are kept at a reasonable level because major components are purchased direct from the factory in container loads. The simplicity of the gen-sets means that the companys 12 employees can handle the current demands for manufacturing, sales and service from the main location where all the components needed to assemble units are stored.
   Production
Through superior engineering, costly and undependable electronic systems and excess hoses and belts have been eliminated. To simplify the cooling system, a combination water-cooled manifold with an integral heat exchanger is installed. The design eliminates two hoses and several hose clamps in the cooling flow. Throughout the production, Southeastern Power Products uses standard-shaped hoses, rather than expensive and difficult-to-replace custom hoses.
   The heat exchanger is easy to service since it is manufactured with Cupro-Nickel alloy with removable end caps. The water-cooled exhaust elbow is constructed of 316L stainless steel, instead of less dependable cast iron. The Oberdorfer double seal pump used on all units is a direct-driven raw water pump. The oil pan is fitted with an oil drain valve, not a turned-up rubber hose.
   When the generator is married to the engine, the Newage/Stamford single-bearing brushless generator with automatic voltage regulation and fully epoxy-coated stator windings is used. To keep the assembly simple, no integrated circuit boards, chips, transistors, or relays are used to control the engine. Instead, a control box with easily understood writing is employed.
   Servicing Southeastern Power Products gen-sets is simple since the dip-stick, oil filter, fuel filter and run solenoid are all accessible on one side. The gen-set is quiet and smooth and to keep it that way, four proper isolation mounts are included.
